San Francisco

Like singer Tony Bennett, you'll leave your heart in the city by the bay, with its Golden Gate Bridge, hilly streets, Victorian architecture, and modern high-rise buildings.

Visit famous Golden Gate Park and historical Civic Center on Market Street. Then ride a cable car from Market Street up over Nob Hill and Russian Hill down Hyde Street to Ghirardelli Square at Fisherman's Wharf. Then take a ferry out to Alcatraz, where some of the most infamous prisoners in America, like Robert Stroud and Al Capone, were incarcerated.

Visit the historic Cliff House, originally built in 1858 and rebuilt again and again after being destroyed by disastrous fires and an incredible dynamite explosion on the site overlooking where more than 30 ships have been driven aground by wild winds and seas and dashed to pieces on the rocks below.

Overlook downtown and the Golden Gate bridge from the Twin peaks. Visit the Palace of Art, which was built in 1915 to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal. See Saints Peter and Paul Church, where "Dirty Harry" and "The Ten Commandments" were filmed, and where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio wanted to get married but were refused permission.
